The way how we think, speak and talk, and what we like to eat, to drink and even the tactics and efforts which we are using to get first date from someone whom we like are special things which are some times same or different from one another and which is not a part of the air what we breathe, the water what we drink or the land that we are walking on. Its a part of our Culture. The culture that we knead ourselves.
Our project titled "Let Peace be our Culture" is a youth exchange within Youth in Action programme Action 1.1. By using non- formal education methods we will determine what youth people can do to bring for next generations, what are the main problems living in peace and it’s solutions.
The project will be held in Edremit, Balikesir that is located in Marmara region of Turkey. During seven days in october 2010, 23 participants from Lithuania,Romania, Italy and Turkey will come together to break prejudices about different cultures and raise awareness about cultural diversities by organizing different workshops, team building activities, indoor and outdoor fairs which will bring new methodology and new approach on Peace education.
In addition to that, the project will provide new sight aspects for peace and culture among communities. Participants will contribute to find true way to break prejudices and to established tolerance, social solidarity, mutual understanding and unity among different cultures.
